PROJECT PORTFOLIO: Residence- Kenwood Parkway, Lake of the Isles, Minneapolis

This picturesque shingle style home on Kenwood Parkway, near lake of the Isles, had suffered through years of haphazard additions and eventually ended up with a split level personality: It was internally divided up into a duplex! The original bathroom did not fare well and succumbed to sheet vinyl flooring, 1980s "off white" tile and an acrylic shower surround. The design solution respects the historic character of the fully restored home while offering a clean, functional retreat in the bathroom. A series of compartments allow different users to occupy their own space: A travertine-lined shower stall with a ceiling-mounted 10" Axor shower head encompasses the bather with a deluge of water. A changing nook adjacent to the shower provides privacy and a dry space to towel off. A generous stone countertop with two sinks and a heated mirror occupy the wall opposite the shower. A private room allows the user of the water closet to experience all of the features a Japanese Toto Toilet has to offer. This luxurious bathroom is currently under construction and we excitedly await its completion.
